The Ian I know is one of the more tenacious and driven people I have met, recovering from his youthful stumbles quite gracefully and discovering his impressive talents through sheer, unflappable curiosity. He's the kind of guy who does good work simply because he wants to and recognizes that good work is its own reward, no matter how much frustrating shit he has to deal with to succeed in that work and reap that reward.
